In perfumery we refer to the citrus or hesperidate family. In Greek mythology the Hesperides were the nymphs of the fruit trees that took care of a wonderful garden.
This family contains the spectrum of citrus fruits and raw materials that give off citrus aromas.
Most of the citrus notes from the rinds of citrus fruits are extracted by expression to preserve their characteristic freshness.
Citrus fruits provide notes in perfumery that give us freshness and lightness and are normally appreciated when opening fragrances, providing the pleasure of cleaning and liveliness.
Among the raw materials belonging to this family, we must highlight bergamot and also other citrus fruits such as grapefruit, mandarin, orange, or lime.
