KIT Samples of incense notes
The notes that are called "incense", usually have their origin in the resin that is obtained in the bark of some trees. The aroma that we perceive in the fragrances is associated with the resin crystals that are burned and have a very characteristic aroma. They are one of the oldest raw materials in perfumery since their use dates back to their use in the first ceremonies with a spiritual purpose.
We find different raw materials of which in perfumery the most used are olibanun (frankincense), and myrrh.
The incense notes are usually presented accompanied by balsamic notes that give them a warmer facet. Fragrances can be found where incense is the main note, but usually it's used in many fragrances where it is not clearly felt and brings brilliance, or lightness to certain facets.
